Curriculum Focus Days

Sometimes in school we need longer 'chunks' of time to teach learners skills or to focus on particular areas of their learning.  So we can do this in Connah's Quay High School we have a series of Curriculum Focus Days.  These days allow groups of learners to focus on different themes or skills for a longer period of time.

Connah’s Quay High School are very pleased to announce that we have secured a grant from the British Heart Foundation.

The grant consists of 35 mini Anne mannequin dolls and DVD’s for learners to be trained in CPR.

On 6th October 2016 all 169 year 9 learners watched the DVD and then were trained using the mannequin’s in CPR by the staff at school. All learners will also
be completing diagrams and written work on how the heart works.

The school is also continuing their fund-raising for two defibrillators which the Oliver King Foundation have supplied and also have trained twelve member of staff to use them. We would like to thank Mark King the founder of the Oliver King Foundation for his support and generosity.
