Chinese Cookery

Learners from the Year 10 GCSE Food and Nutrition course took part in a workshop provided by the Ming Ai Institute in London with the Healthy Chinese Cuisine ambassadors for schools.

Learners watched a presentation about Chinese ingredients followed by a food demonstration using fresh ingredients for Kung Pao Chicken. Following the demonstration, learners worked in pairs to compete for first prize in producing a Chinese dish that was colourful, appealing to look at and carefully prepared.

All learners left having had a wonderful cultural experience and with some samples of Chinese sauces.

Winners of the best Kung Pao Chicken dish were Ffion Cooper and Eleanor Thomas.
