Ysgol Uwchradd Cei Connah / Connah's Quay High School

Inclusion Quality Mark

Three years ago, we were proud to be able to announce that we had become the first secondary school in Wales to be awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark and following a reassessment, we have now been awarded this quality mark once again.

The purpose of this award is to recognise the inclusive nature of a school – ensuring that all leaners, no matter what their interests or ability, are purposefully engaged in the life of the school and that all of their needs are being met.

It also recognises the work of the school within the wider community; the partnerships and links that have been made with the local community and external agencies.

The assessment took place over two days and in the course of that time, the assessor – Pauline Roberts, an educational official from London – met with a range of learners, staff, parents/carers, governors, members of the community and Local Authority representatives to discuss and read about the different aspects of school life; reflecting upon everyone’s experiences of working with Connah’s Quay High School.

The assessor was so impressed with the work of the school, that she has recommended that we consider applying to be a Centre of Excellence.  The report from the assessor is attached for you to be able to read her conclusions about Connah’s Quay High School.
